Vhi Healthcare Responds to ESRI Report

10th October 2000 - In its report, Private Practice in Irish Public Hospitals, the ESRI does not address the issue of the 2% income levy paid by Vhi Healthcare subscribers as part of their taxes to contribute towards the cost of public healthcare. It is estimated that this health levy will generate approximately £490 million this year and at least 50% of this will come from Vhi Healthcare subscribers.
