Day-to-day Cover

Day-to-day cover means cover for your everyday medical expenses, including visits to your GP, Physiotherapist, Optician or Dentist. We offer two different levels of day-to-day cover.

Level 1

Level 1 day-to-day cover gives you €20 back each time you visit a GP, and additional cash back when you visit a physiotherapist, dentist, complementary therapist or optician. Generous cover is also provided for health screening.

Level 2

Level 2 day-to-day cover gives you €30 back each time you visit a GP, and additional cash back when you visit a physiotherapist, dentist, complementary therapist or optician. Generous cover is also provided for health screening.

Hospital

Our plans provide full cover for hospital treatment if you need to stay in hospital for one or more nights. A key difference between plans is the cover they provide for different types of hospital. Select the hospital type below within which you require access to a semi-private room (between 2-5 beds). Selecting the higher levels of hospital cover automatically provides you cover for a private room in the lower hospitals.

Public

Public hospitals are state owned and run. If you want private treatment in a public hospital, it pays to have health insurance.

Private

Private hospitals are privately owned and run and all treatment must be paid for by the patient or by their health insurance. With the average cost of a week’s stay in a private Irish hospital running to € 5,000, you can see how important it is to be covered by Vhi Healtcare.

Hi Tech

Not all private hospitals offer the same treatments or have the same level of equipment and facilities. The Blackrock Clinic and the Mater Private Hospital are specifically included in this category.

You only pay for your first three children under 18.

4th and subsequent children go free.
